We may not be skiers, but we do love a good ski village! We often travel during Spring Break because my husband is a teacher—so we try to use school breaks as often as possible—and because it also happens to be when our wedding anniversary falls most years.
We traveled to Whistler back in the spring of 2020, just shy of the COVID shutdown, when I was pregnant with our first baby. When researching where we wanted to go, I told my husband I was wanting cozy vibes. Well, Whistler definitely delivered on that note.
You might be thinking: Who would go to a popular ski resort town for their babymoon when they can’t do half the activities?
Enter me! I may not ski (pregnant or not), but I love ski villages. I love the walkability, staying at a beautiful resort with gorgeous mountain scenery all around, having incredible restaurants within easy walking distance, and access to low-key adventure when you want it.
Despite being limited in what I could do while pregnant, we made the absolute most of it—and we would love to go back with our kids one day.
Logistical Details & Getting There
Getting to Whistler is straightforward, whether you want to combine it with a city stay or head straight into the mountains.
-
Flying into Vancouver (YVR): The most direct route. It is roughly a 1.5-hour to 2-hour scenic drive along the Sea-to-Sky Highway up to Whistler.
-
Optional: Add 1–2 nights in Vancouver on either end of your trip.
-
-
Flying into Seattle (SEA): A great alternative if flights are significantly cheaper or if you want a longer road trip. The drive time to Whistler is approximately 4.5 hours. We did this option! Crossing the border was not overly complicated for us and we had short lines.
Where to Stay for a Babymoon in Whistler
We previously stayed at the Four Seasons Maui for our honeymoon and were absolutely blown away by the level of care, customer service, and amenities. Because of that experience, we thought it would be fun to stay at another Four Seasons property for our babymoon.
Funnily enough, during our research, we realized that the Four Seasons Resort Whistler was actually listed as one of the most affordable Four Seasons properties globally—which became a huge selling point for us!
We initially planned to split our time between Whistler and a couple of nights in Vancouver. However, as news began to shift around COVID right as we arrived, we canceled our city stay and added two extra nights cozied up at the resort before heading home. The hotel was truly amazing and perfect in every way for a babymoon. The room was spacious and cozy with a fireplace and balcony overlooking the courtyard. I loved the luxury soaking tub, perfect to ease low back pains in the pregnancy. The spa offers a great prenatal massage so be sure to book one and pamper yourself!
There are also plenty of great food options within the resort and we did indulge in some room service, which was equally delicious. You really can’t go wrong with any Four Seasons property, but this one was absolutely worth the money and ideal for a babymoon stay in Whistler.
Another Great Option: If you want a similar luxury experience right in the village, the Fairmont Chateau Whistler is another fantastic resort for a relaxing babymoon.

We did a fabulous horse drawn sleigh ride but the company that offered those is no longer in business. As an alternative, you can check out this holiday sleigh ride tour available in December and January.
-
-
Dinner: Enjoy a fancy, intimate dinner at Alta Bistro.
Day 2: Low-Impact Snowshoeing, Spa Time & S’mores
-
Morning: Wake up with a hot cup of tea or hot cocoa on your balcony. Enjoy breakfast at the hotel or a nearby café in the village.
-
Snowshoeing at Lost Lake: Head to the Lost Lake Cross-Country Ski Trails for some snowshoeing. The trails are gentle, making it feel very safe and easy to get outdoors without worrying about slipping or overexertion. We checked in at the Lost Lake Passive Haus and got our snowshoe rental (and a quick coffee to go at the little cafe) before exploring the trails (stick to the “green circle” trails for the easier trails).
- If you want a guided tour, check out the Medicine Trail snowshoe tour, a 3 hour round trip tour with guide that includes healing plants and teas along the route.
-
Lunch: Stop by a casual village spot for lunch.
-
Afternoon Relaxation:

Enjoy afternoon s’mores by the fire back at the Four Seasons.

-
Easy Waterfall Hike: Drive out to Nairn Falls Provincial Park. It’s about a 30 minute drive from Whistler Village. The trail has very little elevation gain, making it an easy, accessible walk when you’re pregnant.
-
Casual Lunch: Grab delicious, satisfying burgers at Mile One Eating House.
-
Evening: Order room service or take-out and spend the evening watching movies in your room and relaxing after a busy day exploring!
Departure Day
Enjoy breakfast in bed on your last morning, soak in the mountain views one last time, and take the scenic drive back to the airport.
Bonus Tip: If you have extra time or energy, you can buy a sightseer ticket to ride the Peak 2 Peak Gondola purely for 360-degree mountain views without having to ski a single slope!
