Planning a babymoon is all about striking the right balance between iconic sightseeing and necessary downtime. When you’re traveling pregnant, steep hills and packed itineraries can quickly get overwhelming.
Whether you are building a custom trip or looking to pull highlights into a shorter getaway, these top 10 low-impact, bump-friendly activities in Seattle deliver major views, amazing food, and plenty of cozy moments.
If you want to see how to fit all these activities into a seamless, low-impact schedule, check out our complete 4-day Seattle Babymoon Itinerary.
1. Indulge in a Self-Guided Pike Place Market Food Crawl
Pike Place Market is a must-visit, but taking it at a slow pace makes it truly enjoyable when pregnant. Skip the rush and wander through to grab fresh beef-and-cheese pastries at Piroshky Piroshky, steaming Curry Beef Hom Bow at Mee Sum Pastry, rich chowder at Pike Place Chowder, and a warm cup of cider from Tiny’s Organic.
-
Babymoon Tip: Pike Place has plenty of walking on hard pavement and cobblestones. Wear your most supportive walking shoes!
2. Stroll Through the Japanese Garden at Washington Park Arboretum
If you want to catch stunning fall foliage or peaceful greenery without the stress of a strenuous hike, the Washington Park Arboretum is ideal. The Japanese Garden section features gentle, paved winding paths, serene duck ponds, and plenty of benches to rest your feet while soaking in the gorgeous landscape.
3. Ride the Monorail to Chihuly Garden and Glass
Located right at Seattle Center, Chihuly Garden and Glass is a completely flat, indoor-outdoor experience that allows you to move at your own speed. The vibrant blown-glass sculptures are mesmerizing, and you can often catch live glass blowing demonstrations in the hot shop.
-
Savings Tip: Grab a discounted Space Needle & Chihuly combination ticket online since both attractions sit right next to each other! (Grab Your Combo Ticket Here)
4. Take in Skyline Views from the Space Needle
Right next to Chihuly, the iconic Space Needle gives you 360-degree views of the Seattle skyline, Mount Rainier, and Puget Sound without requiring any climbing. Elevators zip you straight to the top, where you can relax on the indoor observation deck or step out onto the revolving glass floor.
- Pregnancy Tip: There was a huge line for the elevator back down but they had a short line for people with physical limitations, and I politely asked if I could join the line due to being 29 weeks pregnant and they were more than happy to oblige.
5. Take the Ferry to Bainbridge Island for a Walkable Outing
Hop aboard the Washington State Ferry for a 35-minute ride across Puget Sound. The ferry boats are incredibly comfortable, featuring indoor seating, a coffee bar, and a snack kiosk. Once on Bainbridge, the charming downtown area of Winslow is easily walkable and filled with local artisan boutiques (my favorite was Millstream), bakeries, and cozy cafes.
-
Guided Option: To avoid too much foot travel on the island, consider booking a short guided tour! (Book the Bainbridge Island Discovery Tour Here)
6. Satisfy Late-Night Cravings with Molten Lava Cakes at Hot Cakes
Pregnancy cravings are real, and Seattle’s dessert scene does not disappoint! Head to Hot Cakes in Ballard or Capitol Hill for molten chocolate lava cakes served warm with organic ice cream. It’s the ultimate late-night date spot to unwind after a day of sightseeing. I still dream about it …
7. Drive Out to See the Majestic Snoqualmie Falls
Located just a 35-minute drive east of downtown Seattle, Snoqualmie Falls offers dramatic 268-foot waterfall views. The best part for expectant moms? You can view the stunning falls right from the upper observation deck adjacent to the parking lot—zero hiking required!
8. Treat Yourself to a Cozy Date Night at Spinasse or Le Coin
A babymoon is the perfect excuse to book a romantic, slow-paced dinner. For handmade, melt-in-your-mouth Italian pasta in an intimate setting, make a reservation at Spinasse in Capitol Hill. If you’re in the mood for cozy French bistro fare, head to Le Coin in Fremont.
A few other spots that captured our attention but that we did not get a chance to book:
- Driftwood: A husband and wife owned spot in Alki Beach
- Canlis: Famous fine-dining spot that’s been around since the 1950s
- Lark Restaurant: New American in Capitol Hill neighborhood
- The Corson Building: Located in the Georgetown neighborhood in a 1910 home. Think cozy and intimate.
- Off Alley: Local, seasonal menu. Small and intimate as well.
- Copine: Fancier spot in Ballard featuring sophisticated French cuisine
9. Snap Photo Ops at the Fremont Troll
Located under the George Washington Memorial Bridge, visiting the famous 18-foot stone Fremont Troll is a quick, fun, and free stop. It makes for a memorable photo op and requires very little walking, making it an easy addition right before a sunset dinner in the Fremont neighborhood.
10. Splurge on a Luxury Hotel Stay with a View
When you’re pregnant, your hotel room becomes a much bigger part of the vacation experience! Book a stay at a high-end property like the Lotte Hotel Seattle for the final nights of your trip. Treating yourself to plush bedding, sweeping waterfront views, spa treatments, and a fancy breakfast in bed is the ultimate way to pamper yourself before baby arrives.
Want more details on where to stay in Seattle on a babymoon? I put together a full length guide on our stay at Lotte Hotel but also on multiple other luxury stays and boutiques we had considered.
Bonus: Want a Scenic Mountain Escape?

Babymoon Planning Tips for Seattle
-
Embrace Afternoon Naps: Schedule a 2-hour buffer between your morning activities and dinner. Heading back to the hotel for a quick nap or to, at least, put your tired feet up, makes evening dinners much more enjoyable.
-
Book Tours to Save Energy: Guided tasting or driving tours save you from navigating Seattle’s steep hills and tricky parking. (Book a Pike Place Food Tour Here)
-
Mix Travel Styles: Spend the first half of your trip at a centrally located city hotel using points for heavy sightseeing, then switch to a luxury resort to relax.
